MEXICO CITY - At least 27 people died yesterday and 25 were injured after two buses collided on a desert highway in northern Mexico near the US border, police said.
Police initially reported 25 people were killed in the crash near the border town of Sonoita in the northern state of Sonora. But two more died later in hospital, said Commander Hector Catano of the transit police in Mexicali, capital of the nearby state of Baja California.
