A Co Clare-based tourist accommodation group has unveiled plans to invest €28 million in two new holiday developments in Clare and Galway which will lead to the creation of up to 90 full-time and part-time jobs.

The Atlantis Holiday Group has confirmed that it will develop a €20 million five-star hotel complex in Quin, Co Clare, and will also construct an €8 million tourism development at Maam Cross, Co Galway.

The group purchased Peacockes Hotel in Maam Cross in April 2007, as part of overall plans to develop the existing property. The hotel recently reopened, having undergone extensive refurbishment works.

Plans are now in place to develop a holiday complex, involving extensive leisure and spa facilities, extra accommodation and amenities, and lakeside holiday homes. 40 jobs will be created when the project is completed.
