An Irish tourist died when fire broke out at a backpacker resort on the Thai island of Koh Chang, police said today.
The man, 29, died after the blaze early yesterday gutted his bungalow and seven others at the Seangtawan resort on the island, some 315 kilometres southeast of Bangkok.
Police said they identified the victim from his driver's license. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
