More than 3,000 people took part in the annual Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Parade in Dublin on Saturday afternoon, according to the gardaí.
The parade, which made its way through the centre of the capital from its starting point on Parnell Square and finished with an open-air show at Wood Quay, was incident free.
"Despite the torrential rain conditions, well over 3,000 people took part in the parade. The mood of the parade was at all times very good and there was absolutely no hint of trouble," a Garda spokesman said.
The parade coincided with a warning from the Gay Community News magazine, which urged its readers to exercise caution following recent robberies targeting homosexual men.
The publication issued the warning after four phone calls and several letters from victims of the attacks.
Mr Brian Finnegan, editor of the Gay Community News, said: "Without doubt, members of the gay community are being approached in a sexual manner by the thieves."
It is reported that the thieves have stolen from their victims' bank accounts after learning their account numbers.
