In Rosslare, Co Wexford, gardaí are continuing to investigate yesterday's road accident which resulted in the death of a 34-year-old Stephen Clampett from Rosslare Harbour.

The incident happened at Churchtown on the Wexford Town to Rosslare Harbour Road at around 2.30am on Christmas morning.

It is believed that the man lost control of his car and struck a tree. He was alone in the car at the time and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile in a separate incident in Mullingar, Co Westmeath, a 24-year-old man died yesterday morning just before 4am.

The name of the dead man, who was alone in the car at the time of the accident, has been released as Massimo Lingi.

And previously, early on Christmas Eve in Naas, Co Kildare, a man in his 20s died following an accident involving a car in which he was a passenger.
