A 24-years-old Dublin man was being questioned by gardai at Ashbourne this morning following the seizure of ecstasy tablets with an estimated value of £300,000. He can be held for up to seven days.
The tablets were found in a holdall in the boot of a car which was stopped at a routine checkpoint near the Co Meath town as part of Operation Lifesaver. Gardai noticed that a false tax disc was displayed on the car and discovered the drugs in a search of the vehicle.
