An accident in which a mother and her six-month baby son were killed in June

1994 was recalled in the High Court in Cork yesterday. Ms Christine O'Neill

(36) and baby Eoin died after a van veered into them as they walked along the road at Coolroe, Ballincollig, Co Cork, on June 13th. Ms O'Neill's three-year-

old daughter, Roisin, survived.

An award of £350,000 was made to Ms O'Neill's family in an agreed settlement. Roisin, now six, is to receive £37,500, to be held in trust, and Ms O'Neill's parents, Mr Timothy and Ms Maura Sheehan, from Derrigra East,

Ballineen, Cork, are to receive £2,500 each. The remainder of the

£350,000 goes to her husband, Mr Patrick Gerard O'Neill, of Wyndham

Downs, Ballincollig, Co Cork.

The award was made against Mr Bryan Browne, of Kilmoney Heights, Carrigaline,

Cork, the van driver, and Airport Delivery Services, of Monaghan Road Industrial

Park, Cork, owners of the van.
