Mexico City - Four people were killed and up to 38 injured on Tuesday in a clash in Mexico's troubled southern state of Chiapas, where the opposition ousted the ruling party in a weekend state governor's election, the Televisa network has reported.
The state prosecutor's office said a team had gone to the scene of the confrontation, but had not yet reported in.
State officials said it appeared the clash may have involved a land dispute between supporters of the Zapatistas and of the Institutional Revolutionary Party.
