New Delhi - India's Supreme Court yesterday confirmed death sentences on four of the 26 people convicted of conspiring to assassinate the former prime minister Mr Rajiv Gandhi in May 1991.
The country's highest court was ruling on an appeal by the 10 Indians and 16 Sri Lankans sentenced to death by a special trial court in January 1998 for conspiring to kill Mr Gandhi at an election rally in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.
