THE people of this country might be shocked by details of how religious discrimination was being practised partly in their name, Mr Paddy McGowan (FF), told the House.

He said the Foyle Fishery Commission had recently been fined £40,000 for discriminating against employees on religious grounds.

The Irish Government was joint manager of the commission and therefore had to take responsibility for having imposed religious discrimination on the selection of personnel for jobs.

Mr Maurice Manning said proposed legislation would afford Mr McGowan a chance to pursue this
