Nagoya - Flooding and landslides from Japan's worst torrential rains in at least a century have killed six people and prompted authorities to urge almost 400,000 to flee their homes in the industrial heartland.
Police said yesterday three people were still missing after rains triggered by a typhoon lashed central Japan, halting high-speed trains and traffic on the main highways into the industrial metropolis of Nagoya. In Tokyo, a tornado ripped the roofs off 10 houses.
