Fifty-five jobs are to be created at two firms in Co Kerry over the next two years.

Fifty-five jobs are to be created at two firms in Co Kerry over the next two years.

High-tech firm Straker, which develops software that allows sites to be run in several languages, will create 25 jobs when it bases its European headquarters at Tralee Technology Park. The degree-level jobs will be in sales, technical support, technical development and administration, and will be added over the next two years.

The operation will deal with clients across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the US east coast.

The remaining 30 jobs will be at wind turbine manufacturer Enercon, which is establishing a technical services operation in the area. The company employs some 12,000 people worldwide.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation Batt O'Keeffe said the jobs were important indicators of
Ireland's economic recovery.
