NEW DELHI - At least 6() people were killed and 100 injured yesterday when an overcrowded passenger train and a freight train collided head on in northern India, rail officials and witnesses said.
Angry travellers stormed a rail station near the site at Gorakhpur, in Uttar Pradesh, and set fire to rail offices in protest at the crash, the United News of India news agency reported. A railway spokesman said the toll was likely to be "very high", as many passengers were trapped inside crushed carriages.
