A court-appointed receiver was given the go-ahead yesterday to accept an offer of £70,500 for the home of drug dealer Regina Felloni at Mellowes Road, Finglas, Dublin.

In an affidavit presented to the High Court, Mr Frank Cassidy, for the Chief State Solicitor's office, said 10 people attended the auction of the Felloni home. Three appeared to be genuine bidders.

There were eleven bids and eventually the auctioneer "knocked down" the property for a figure of £70,500. The reserve price was £70,000.

Mr Jim Orange, solicitor for Regina Felloni, said he had no objection to the court being asked to approve the sale.

In October 1996 Ms Felloni pleaded guilty to possession of heroin with intent to supply and was jailed the following December for six years and 9 months.

Her father, Anthony Felloni, is serving a 14-year sentence for possession of heroin with intent to supply.

The Circuit Court determined that Regina Felloni benefitted from drug trafficking in the amount of £400,000 and ordered that a sum of £300,000 be recovered and confiscated.

In March this year, Mr Justice O'Higgins ordered an inventory of Ms Felloni's assets with a view to discharging the confiscation order.

According to an affidavit sworn by Mr Cassidy in April this year, the property at Mellowes Road had been effectively abandoned by Ms Felloni. It was clear that everything of any value had been taken or stripped from the property. The property has been vacant for some time.
