A £3 Million enhancement programme to transform the pedestrianised streets of Galway is set to cause disruption in the city-centre when work begins on Monday.
The contractors have agreed to meet every trader in the centre to discuss any problems which occur during the construction work, due to be completed by mid-June.
The Galway City Manager, Mr Joe Gavin, said that the project would include £1 million for the street-enhancement programme, with an extra £2 million for street furnishings and related services.
Delivery vehicles only will be allowed into the pedestrianised area, which was rezoned last March, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 11 a.m.
