Gaelic Games:Dublin leads the nominations for the 2011 GAA/GPA football All Stars awards, with 12 of the players that won the All-Ireland football final against Kerry among the 45 players named today.
Eleven of the starting line-up from the final are nominated, while substitute Kevin McManamon is also included after his dramatic late intervention swung the game back in Dublin’s direction.
Nine of the Kerry side that started at Croke Park have been nominated, including their entire fullback line.
Beaten semi-finalists Donegal have been handed seven, while Mayo get five nominations after going out in the last four to Dublin.
Of the beaten quarter-finalists, Kildare get five, Cork three and Tyrone two. There are no nominations for Limerick, who were beaten at that stage by Kerry.
Forwards Ben Brosnan of Wexford and Derry’s Eoin Bradley are the only representatives of sides knocked out in the final round of the Qualifiers.
