Romford - A baby girl abandoned in a plastic bag in an alleyway was killed after an unsuspecting motorist ran over her, Essex police disclosed yesterday. The baby, thought to be between 10 and 15 days old, died from multiple injuries. Police have appealed for the mother to come forward.
They have not managed to track down the driver of the car or van, who detectives believe would not have realised that they had even struck anything. The body was found by a local resident at 8 a.m. on October 8th.
A police spokeswoman said: "The baby was naked but was wrapped in a pink and white towel, blue tissue paper and a Tesco carrier bag."
