A DUBLIN man charged with taking part in two robberies on the city's south side on the same day was remanded on bail by the Dublin District Court yesterday.

Before the court was John Jones (20), of Kildare Park, Crumlin, who is charged with robbery at Perrystown Post Office, and assault with intent to rob at the Irish Permanent building society, Walkinstown, both on June 25th last.

Garda Colm Fox told the court Jones went into the society armed with an imitation firearm and assaulted two people. Later, at Perrystown Post Office, he escaped with £180 in cash.

The court also heard that the day before the two crimes, Jones had gone to the Four Star Pizza store on Braemor Road, Tallaght, armed with a syringe, and stole £80.
