A man (18) was remanded in custody when he appeared in court in the North today over the murder of a man in Co Tyrone last week.

Mr Samuel Houston, of Church Hill, Caledon, is charged with murdering Mr Noel Williamson, whose body was found on an isolated pathway beside the Blackwater River in the village of Caledon near Dungannon last Wednesday

Mr Houston appeared at Fermanagh Magistrates Court in Enniskillen today wearing a white fleece, black T-shirt and trousers, and he spoke only to confirm his identity and to say he understood the charge.

A detective inspector told the court that he arrested, charged and cautioned Mr Houston for the murder of Mr Williamson at Dungannon Police Station on Sunday.

The teenager made no reply. The detective inspector said he believed he could connect Mr Houston with the charge.

Mr Houston was remanded in custody to appear at Dungannon Court by video link on November 17th.
