Executives at IDA Ireland Forfas and Forbairt are threatening further industrial action this week, although they will not picket as planned this morning.
More than 100 SIPTU members across the three State agencies walked out last Wednesday. The union says members on one grade are paid up to 40 per cent less than staff doing the same work. The discrepancy has arisen since Eolas amalgamated with the IDA to form the development bodies.
SIPTU says discussions have been going on for twos years and argues that its case is separate from the PCW.
Last week SIPTU threatened to strike on at least three days' this week. A union spokeswoman said it had deferred today's walkout, but would be notifying management today of its plans for further action.
A spokesman for IDA Ireland said it had been notified by the union that there would be no pickets this morning and the union would be discussing the matters internally.
