London - The actress Joan Hickson, who played Miss Marple in the BBC television series of the same name, has died at the age of 92. She made her acting debut in 1927 and had a long stage career before taking on her most famous TV role as the shrewd detective, which ran from 1984 to 1992.
She started her screen career in 1933 and was in more than 100 films, including many of the Carry On films.
