The Office of the Attorney General has released the Acts of the Oireachtas from 1922 to 1997 in electronic format. This is the first phase of a project to make available all statutes from 1922 to 1998 by next year.
The Acts, which run to 42,000 pages, are available on a single CD-ROM and are searchable using a powerful search engine. According to the Attorney General, Mr David Byrne SC, it will be "of particular benefit to people doing business in Ireland who need access to Irish legislation in electronic format".
The CD-ROM is available from the Government Publications Sales Office, price £20. The Acts are also available on the Internet at the Attorney General's website (www.irlgov.ie/ag).
