Adair's wife, son in court on drugs charges

The wife and son of convicted loyalist paramilitary Johnny "Mad Dog" Adair have appeared in court on drug charges.

The wife and son of convicted loyalist paramilitary Johnny "Mad Dog" Adair have appeared in court on drug charges.

Mr Jonathan Adair (19), of Horwich, Bolton, Greater Manchester, was charged at Bolton Crown Court with conspiracy to supply heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine, and the supply of Class A drugs.

Mrs Gina Adair (37), was charged with conspiracy to supply heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine.

They appeared with two other men, a woman and a 13-year-old boy - all from Bolton.

Mr Jonathan Adair was remanded in custody to appear at Bolton Crown Court on February 22nd  for a plea and directions hearing. Mrs Adair was granted bail and will appear on the same date.

Mrs Adair and her four children came to the area in February, along with a number of other families to escape a loyalist feud in Belfast.

Her husband is  in prison in Maghaberry where he is serving a 16-year sentence for directing terrorism.
