Aer Lingus said today it had rejected a second request from Ryanair to convene an extraordinary shareholders' meeting to force the former national airline to retain its Shannon-Heathrow services.
Aer Lingus said it believes the Ryanair's aim is to "interfere with and frustrate the commercial and operational performance of Ryanair's most resilient competitor".
Aer Lingus plans to end flights from Shannon to Heathrow in January, saying they are its least profitable route.
