At least 30 people have been killed and 50 more wounded in a string of suicide attacks this evening in Afghanistan's southern city of Kandahar city, officials from the city's main hospital said.
Among the dead were civilians and police, they said. Earlier doctors gave the death toll as 21 but said more dead bodies had arrived at the hospital's morgue.
Kandahar, Afghanistan's second city, has been the scene of numerous Taliban attacks. US-led forces plan to launch an operation this year to take back the city and surrounding areas, which have increasingly been under the insurgents' control.
