Andre Agassi won his second title of the year today with a 7-6 7-5 6-1 victory over Pete Sampras in the Tennis Masters Series-Indian Wells final.
The fourth-seeded Agassi who claimed his seventh Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January survived two tight sets to out-class the third-seeded Sampras in the third set.
"When you're playing Pete you have to weather the storm," said Agassi, who earned $400,000 for the win. "You have to execute from the beginning to beat Pete."
"I just kind of slowly wilted away in the third set," admitted Sampraswho has not won a title since Wimbledon last year. "I just have to give all the credit to Andre."

This was the 30-year-old Agassi's first title at Indian Wells in 11 appearances.
