A former Aer Lingus air hostess hopes to make a tidy sum next week when an in-flight menu signed by all four members of the Beatles is expected to make up to €6,000 at auction in Co Kerry.

Auctioneer Tom O’Connell of the Kerry Auction Rooms in Tralee said the memento from the flight that brought The Beatles to Ireland on November 7th, November 1963, was “signed by all the Fab Four” – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

The item was submitted for auction by a member of the cabin crew now living in Co Kerry who “was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time”.

According to Mr O’Connell, The Beatles “decided that first-class was not for them and travelled economy instead”. He said “they were more than willing to sign the menu for the flight attendant who looked after them but, sadly, she declined the opportunity of a photo” with the band.
