Frantic relatives of a woman who went missing after a caravan site in the North party today joined police in a bid to locate her.

Air and land searches for Lisa Dorrian (25) also continued along a stretch of the Ards Peninsula in Co Down.

The shop assistant from Bangor has not been seen since early Monday.

Although anxious police officers have not ruled out a crime, her family said they still hoped she would turn up safe and well.

Ms Dorrian's sister, Joanne, said: "Lisa is a well-loved girl and everybody is just praying for her safe return.

"The family are just trying to be strong for each other and just hoping and praying every night that she'll walk through the door."

The missing woman has not contacted family or friends since she attended a party at a caravan site on the Shore Road in nearby Ballyhalbert. She was last seen there at around 5am on Monday.

Worryingly, her handbag and personal belongings were left at the scene.

Police involved in the hunt have urged property owners in the area to check garages and outhouses for anything suspicious.

As the operation intensified, an underwater search team was brought in. The effort was expected to continue until nightfall.

The missing woman is 5ft 4ins, thin build with blonde hair.

She was wearing a white short-sleeved top with lettering on it, cream combat trousers and a pair of white furry moon boots.
