Aer Lingus catering staff are to begin a series of "lightning overtime bans and work stoppages" from Monday for better pay, writes Padraig Yeates.
Provision of in-flight meals could be at risk, although the company can buy in supplies on return flights.
Meanwhile, baggage handlers with the company have served strike notice for Friday, October 14th, and 1,400 clerical staff are expected to vote for strike action shortly.
Aer Lingus pilots are to begin a work-to-rule in pursuit of their pay claim on Tuesday.
The only good news for Aer Lingus yesterday was that the Irish Congress of Trade Union's general purposes committee has launched an initiative to resolve the dispute between IMPACT and SIPTU over who should represent the company's 1,650 cabin crew.
Mr Gerard Durkan SC, who is the arbitrator in disputes between the company and the Irish Air Line Pilots Association branch of IMPACT, is to make the latest peace effort.
SIPTU branch secretary Mr Tony Walsh welcomed the initiative and said his union would be accepting an invitation from Mr Durkan to attend talks later today. There was no comment from IMPACT.
