Low-cost airline Go announced today it was increasing its services between Northern Ireland and London by 50 per cent following the decision by British Airways to abandon the route.
The airline will operate six return flights a day between Belfast International Airport and Stansted on week days and four at weekends.
Since Go began flights on the route almost a year ago demand had continually increased, the airline said.
They said the recent announcement that British Airways was dropping the route - their last flight was at the weekend - had fuelled a further need for low cost flights and they had responded.
Ms Barbara Cassani, chief executive of Go, said: "Go is committed to spreading low cost travel in Northern Ireland. We have listened to our own customers and those left in the lurch by BA and responded quickly."
The new timetable will come into effect on December 3th with flights from £35 return, including taxes.
