Aer Lingus customers who have reservations for flights tomorrow will be offered rerouting with another airline, if available, a booking for another day, or a refund.
A spokeswoman for Aer Lingus said some 16,000 to 18,000 passengers were affected by cabin crews' planned stoppage tomorrow. Customers with reservations for tomorrow's flights should contact the helpline at 1800 40 40 00. The line is open from 8.00 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Information is also available on the Aer Lingus website - www.aerlingus.ie - or from travel agents.
Fifteen incoming Aer Lingus flights and six shared flights with Sabena will operate tomorrow.
These are listed in an advertisement in today's Irish Times. Three flights have been cancelled today and four flights will be cancelled on Thursday.
Mr Colin Daly, legal adviser to the European Consumer Centre, said customers affected by the strike were entitled to a refund or to be accommodated at the next opportunity.
The dispute at Knock Airport over the "early bird" Aer Arann flight to Dublin has been settled.
SIPTU members at the airport had sought increased pay and better conditions, which were refused by management. The service was due to start on January 18th but was suspended.
The chairman of Knock Airport board, Mr Cathal Duffy, said the flight will now begin on Tuesday, February 13th, at 7.00 a.m. The return flight will leave Dublin at 7.00 p.m.
A 10 per cent increase, a shift allowance and an extra day's leave were negotiated.
