Aer Rianta has said there was no threat to security at Dublin Airport yesterday when a number of airport police left their posts.
The unofficial walk-out occurred shortly after 3 a.m. following a disagreement between a police officer and a supervisor resulted in the suspension of the officer. An undisclosed number of officers apparently left their posts in sympathy.
SIPTU officials who represent the airport police will today meet Aer Rianta management. An Aer Rianta spokeswoman described the affair as "minor" and added that "at no time were essential services compromised".
