After the traditional and funny warm-up by Eugene Lambert, dog Judge and Mr Crow, plus birthday greetings, the Christmas show Aladdin gets under way; and it's a good one.

It wastes no time in getting the characters onstage; widow Twankey, her son Aladdin, Princess Jasmine and her royal Dad, the villainous Ebenezer with henchman Hairy, and a hefty genie. Then it puts them through their cheerful paces until right proves to be might.

The excellent sets - there are now improved facilities for flying them - include an atmospheric cave, castles literally in the air, a magic carpet ride and more. Costumes are colourful, voices are in character and there is lively music.
