Racing - Aintree:Ryanair Chase hero Albertas Run will face 10 rivals in the John Smith's Melling Chase at Aintree on Friday.
The nine-year-old ran out an impressive winner at last month's Cheltenham Festival and his trainer Jonjo O'Neill has been delighted with how he has taken those exertions.
"I've been pleased with him since the Ryanair and, while he knew he'd had a race that day, he seems absolutely fine now and is ready to go again," the trainer told his website www.jonjooneillracing.com.
"Albertas doesn't owe us anything considering how well he's done over the years, but it would be fantastic if he could cap this season off with yet another big win."
Albertas Run will certainly face a stiff test with Champion Chase runner-up Forpadydeplasterer and third home Kalahari King in attendance.
Ryanair second Poquelin bids to go one better for Paul Nicholls, the fourth from that race, Deep Purple, represents Evan Williams, while Schindlers Hunt is an interesting contender for Dessie Hughes.
Jack The Giant, Mahogany Blaze, Aintree specialist Monet's Garden, Oh Crick and Tartak complete the field.
