French Formula One driver Jean Alesi says he will drive for Jordan in 2002 as well as in the last five races of this season.
"Eddie [Jordan] called me to ask me if I was available for the end of the season. In fact, I signed for 2002 as well," Alesi told French television TF1 at the weekend.
"I will also drive for Jordan next year," said the Frenchman, who replaced sacked German Heinz-Harald Frentzen at Jordan last week.
Frentzen has taken Alesi's place at the Prost team.
Alesi, the only driver to finish every race so far this season, said he was confident he could show his talent as early as the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday.
"In Budapest, I will have at my disposal a car with the potential to put me on the podium. It's a real boost to my motivation," he said.
"I'm looking forward to prove I have lost nothing of my driving abilities".
