GAA: Tyrone's start to the 2006 championship got off to a less than impressive start in Omagh this afternoon.
The All-Ireland champions failed to overcome rivals Derry who won by 1-08 to 0-04.
At Semple Stadium, Cork fought hard to claim a well deserved victory against Clare. Cork won 0-20 to 0-14.
In Croke Park, Wexford overcame Meath 1-19 to 1-13 to book a place in the Leinster SFC semi-finals. Later on in the day, Offaly thrashed Kildare 3-09 to 0-15.
Elsewhere, Mayo came out on top in the match against London at Ruislip earlier today, winning 1-18 to 0-08.
