A summons against a Fianna Fail Roscommon county councillor alleging assault last January on the former Minister for Justice, Mr Sean Doherty TD, was adjourned yesterday to Rooskey District Court on September 17th.
Cllr Tom Crosby, a publican who lives in Tarmonbarry on the Longford-Roscommon border, is accused of assaulting Mr Doherty, of Cootehall, Boyle, on January 23rd at the home of Feargal McGuinness, Tarmonbarry. Mr Leo Brannigan, solicitor for Cllr Crosby, told Judge Bernard Brennan that his client was unwell and unfit to attend court.
