There was an employment boost for the country today as a leading forecourt retailer said it would create 300 jobs and 425 positions were confirmed at Stream Global Services.

Irish company Applegreen said it would create around 300 jobs after winning contracts to operate new motorway service stations in Dublin, Louth and Kildare.

The company is part of the SuperStop consortium, which was awarded a public private partnership contract by the National Roads Authority (NRA) to operate and maintain the service areas. The consortium also includes Top Oil and Pierse Contracting.

The positions, which will be both full and part-time, will be mainly in the food service area, with additional jobs in retail, cleaning and maintenance. A recruitment drive is already underway to fill the jobs.
