Almost two-thirds of the electorate are undecided on how to vote in the upcoming referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, according to an opinion poll published in today's Irish Times.

Although no date has been set for the referendum, an Irish Times/TNS mrbi poll shows 64 per cent of people say they don't know how they will vote or have no opinion on the EU Constitutional Treaty, agreed in Lisbon last year.

This is 2 per cent up on a comparable poll conducted last November.

Some 26 per cent of people say they intend to ratify the treaty, an increase of 1 per cent on last November, while 10 per cent say they will vote No, a fall of 3 per cent.

The poll was conducted last Monday and Tuesday among a representative sample of 1,000 voters in interviews at 100 sampling points in all constituencies.

Ireland is the only EU state holding a referendum on the treaty. On Thursday, Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny called on the Taoiseach to set a date for the referendum to end the "continuing uncertainty" on the issue.
