The Centenary Handbook of the St John Ambulance Brigade of Ireland has been launched by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Cllr Dermot Lacey.
Mr Lacey paid tribute to the work of the St John Ambulance at many of the major events of Dublin City over the last 100 years, including the 1916 Rising, the Civil War, the Eucharistic Congress, the North Strand Bombings and the Papal Visit. He was speaking at a ceremony on Thursday.
The mayor congratulated the St John Ambulance on its "outstanding work over the years" and on its continuing involvement at sports events, concerts, and gatherings where First Aid assistance may be required.
