A US U-2 spy plane crashed today in Hwasong, south of the South Korean capital.
The plane crashed at around 6 a.m. (Irish Time), a defense ministry official said. US and South Korean officials rushed to the scene but details as to the numbed and fate of the plane's crew were unknown. The cause of the crash was also unknown.
"The US reconnaissance aircraft crashed in Hwasong, and we are investigating the cause," he said.
South Korean police said the crash left three South Korean farmers injured in Hwasong, about 80 kilometers (48 miles) south of Seoul.
