Sydney - A pro-Indonesian paramilitary group is threatening to "cleanse" the East Timorese capital of separatist supporters this weekend, Amnesty International said yesterday.
The London-based human rights watchdog called on the Indonesian government to take immediate action to disarm and disband militias before it was too late. It also said it had received reports that at least nine people had disappeared since April 11th in the East Timorese town of Suai after being detained by a paramilitary group.
