GAA:Cavan coach Val Andrews has tendered his resignation following a meeting of the senior inter county football panel.
Following Cavan’s exit from the Allianz National football league the senior panel informed the management and board that it was their wish to have a players meeting to analyse their own personal performances from the campaign. Both management and board were aware of the meeting and had no objection to it taking place.
A number of issues arose and following a discussion with Andrews he decided to tender his resignation as Cavan Senior team manager with immediate effect.
Andrews, through a statement from the country PRO, said that for the over all well being of the team a speedy decision was necessary to afford Cavan County board every opportunity to make alternative arrangements for the up coming Ulster Senior football championship. He also wished the best for Cavan football.
The Chairman and Officer’s of Cavan County Board who enjoyed a close relationship with the coach expressed their gratitude for his efforts with the county.
