Manchester City striker Nicolas Anelka has criticised Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier ahead of the side's FA Cup clash at Maine Road today.
The striker, who joined City after a six-month loan spell at Liverpool, accused the Anfield boss of being disrespectful and untrustworthy.
Anelka believed he had done enough to earn a full-time contract at Anfield after scoring five goals in 24 appearances when on loan from Paris St Germain last season.
He blames Houllier for his exit from the club.
"He can't be trusted and I resented the way he treated me," Anelka told the Sunday Mirror.
"Some people said I was too strong a character for Houllier, that I stood up against him and he didn't like it.
"But that was completely untrue, nothing ever happened between us.
"I felt everyone at the club wanted me to stay. The chairman, the fans, Sammy Lee and Phil Thompson - everyone except for Houllier."
