Bonn - Britons have taken pity on Germany's dismal record in the Eurovision Song Contest and dreamt up a plan to give this year's entrant a helping hand.
Broadcasters serving British forces in Germany are giving blanket coverage to Guildo Horn and his backing band, the Orthopaedic Stockings, in the hope of ensuring their victory via the telephone voting system. "It's going to be the biggest Anglo-German scam ever," declared Mr Marc Tyley, the general manager of the British Forces Broadcasting Services in Germany.
