Shares in Anglo Irish Bank have fallen almost 6 per cent today after it revealing additional writedowns of its structured-investment vehicles (SIVs).

In its statement the bank said it expected to report a 15 per cent increase in earnings per share growth by March 31st.

Anglo said that the total provisions for the write-downs of its structured-investment vehicles was now more than 75 per cent of the original value.

In its annual report for the year ending September 30th, Anglo said it had some €134 million ($205 million) of SIVs and had written down half of that.

Anglo also said its loan growth over the over the first half-year would rise by 10 per cent to €6.5 billion. It added that customer deposits were performing strongly and that lending was substantially funded through growth in customer funding.
