STAFF AT hairdresser Toni & Guy are expecting an announcement today on the future of some of the group’s salons in Ireland.
A spokeswoman at the headquarters of the UK franchise was unable to comment last night on reports of restructuring and had “no information to share” regarding Toni & Guy (Ireland), which she pointed out was a franchise business. However, staff sources in Ireland suggested that up to five of the salons might be closing.
Sources also indicated that a meeting would take place between representatives of the UK headquarters and the management of some of the Irish salons today regarding restructuring.
Toni & Guy first opened in Ireland with a salon on South Anne Street in Dublin in 1993.
There are 13 Toni & Guy salons in Ireland, according to its Irish website, with a number in the greater Dublin area and others in Cork, Kilkenny, Galway, Naas and Waterford.
The hairdresser was founded in London in 1963 by brothers Guiseppe and Gaetano Mascolo.
