A TOTAL of £400,000 is to be spent on the Department of the Environment's anti litter campaign, the House was told. The Minister said work was also proceeding on the preparation of a comprehensive new bill to replace the Litter Act, 1982.
Replying to Ms Mairin Quill (PD, Cork North Central) Mr Howlin said a survey revealed that areas particularly prone to litter were the vicinity of fast food outlets and some schools.
