The protest will take place at 6.30 p.m. and will be addressed by Mr Roger Cole of the Peace and Neutrality Alliance, Mr Kieran Allen, editor of

Socialist Worker

, Mr Andi Storey of Action from Ireland (AFRI) and Mr Joe Higgins of the Socialist Party.

Spokesman for the movement Mr Kevin Wingfield said its purpose was to protest at the bombing of civilians in Afghanistan and to demand that the Irish government withdraws its offer of the use of Irish airspace and airport facilities to the US military.

The group is a broad-based anti-war movement and was formed before the launch of attacks on Afghanistan last Sunday.
