Kuala Lumpur - The trial of Malaysia's sacked finance minister, Mr Anwar Ibrahim, entered its final phase with the defence calling two key government witnesses shadowy "spooks" willing to lie to topple the former leader.
Initiating closing arguments in the five-month-old sex-and-corruption trial, the defence lawyer, Mr Sulaiman Abdullah, appealed to Judge Augustine Paul to discount crucial testimony by two senior police officers against Mr Anwar.
